Taylor
Taylor Swift has become a uncommon pop sensation: a superstar who crossed over completely from traditional country music to popular culture to become a global icon that will last forever and winning the hearts of a vast majority of people around the globe. Swift left behind the country roots she was raised with like it's second nature to her and demonstrated that she's the best pop singer/songwriter of her time. Swift could make the occasion personal and capture the mood. Swift's first hits, particularly the neo song in tribute to Tim McGraw, showed off her talents. However, her album Fearless showed a singer-songwriter that was growing as she found a large fan base. The album was hugely successful not just in America in which six of the singles were declared platinum, on the back of Top Ten hit songs Love Story and You Belong with Me. But it also performed well around all over the world. Speak Now delivered almost two years later, which consolidated the success and pushed Swift up the ranks of superstardom. Through the course of three years, Swift's fame was growing -- Red (2012), Reputation (2014) and 1989 (2014-2015) during which time Swift entered the realm of pop, where her abilities were already well established. Even when she scaled back her approach with 2020's stripped-down sibling releases folklore and Evermore she was still atop the world of pop, a position that she maintained by rerecordings from her earlier catalog, as well as Midnights the top charting synth heavy 2022 set.
