Rosie Perez

KimRosie Perez (born Rosa Maria Perez on September 6, 1964) is an American actress as well as choreographer, dancer and activist. Her first big break came with her performance as Tina in the movie Do the Right Thing (1989), then followed by White Men Can't Jump (1992). Perez was nominated for the Academy Award as Best Supporting Actress for her performance in Fearless (1993). Perez has appeared in a variety of films since the time, including It Could Happen to You (1994), The Road to El Dorado ((2000), Pineapple Express (2008) and Birds of Prey (2021). She was nominated for three Primetime Emmy Award nominations, one for In Living Color (1990-1994), and another nomination for her role in The Flight Attendant (2020-2021). She has also appeared in stage plays on Broadway like The Ritz, Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune, and Fish in the Dark. She also hosted the 18th season of ABC's talk show The View. She graduated from Grover Cleveland High School in Ridgewood, Queens. [11] Her mother lived in poverty in Woodside Houses by 1999. She died of complications from AIDS in 1999.
